Its pretty easy to remove the standard recoil pad---2 phillips head screws hold it on---you have to look real close at the back of the pad and you can barely see the spots where the screws go in---insert a medium size phillips screwdriver into these holes and turn the handle until you feel it engage the screw heads then turn the screwdriver counter-clockwise until they come out. The replacement pad should have 2 holes in the same places (provided you have purchased a pad designed to be a direct replacement by the maker to fit your exact shotgun)---simply screw the new pad back on being careful to insert the screws straight in---you should be able to feel the screws engage the threads in the wood. I have experience with only the Remington R3 pad and the Limbsaver brands---both are excellent and make a noticeable difference (I also install a mercury recoil reducer in the stock at the same time). Good luck with your project.

No, either pad is not damaged in any way.

Haven't tried the super cell, but I'm a big fan of Kick-eez pads. Limbsavers would be my second choice.

The difference between standard pad and the Supercell is like night and day. No soreness whatsover. The only issue you might find is fit. I have the correct pad and it doesn't look as good as the R3 limbsaver.

I was also thinking about getting a new recoil pad for my Mossberg Maverick 12 g

I was looking at this one:

Any reason to get any of the other ones mentioned above?

Edit : will a Supercell fit on a mossberg maverick?

A little trick that helps is to spray your screw driver with oil before you insert it in the pad. This allows it to turn freely if the screw holes are tight. Also, as you are backing out the screws keep the pad pushed to the stock so the screws back out, not just the pad. It can be a pain to get the screws out of the pad if you don't do that.

                    so you have personnal experience?
and where do you buy one?
