    H&R single shot for HD

I know its not the best choice but its what ive got. I want to make it more friendly for HD so i need suggestions, or should I even bother. Any advice would help.

keep a round in the chamber and the hammer at half-cock. I keep grandpa's old single shot .410 loaded and ready for rattlesnakes. I also keep a few extra rounds in a nylon shell holder on the stock. But, that's as far as I'd go when it comes to changing what you've got.

Only thing I can think of is to cut the barrel down or practice reloads. If you don't need to maneuver around the house, just leave it as is.

use the barrel like a curb feeler in the dark, and hit what youre poking. dont ruin a a good trap gun with picatinny crap.

Watch this video. Clint smith compresses a whole lot of shotgun common sense into three minutes. You should definitely "bother." With a little bit of training, and a butt cuff shell holder, that single shot can still be a formidable weapon. As Clint says in the video - I don't need a $1000 shotgun, I need to know how to run the gun I have.
