    Ten Million 870s

This is pretty cool. To celebrate the making of 10,000,000 870 shotguns, Remington is giving away 10 commemorative 870s.

10.000,000 870's built. I would think that ends the debate about which wepaon is most dependable. what is really fantasic is that the design has changed so very little in all this time. It worked then and it works now.

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

JD, you said that very eloquently. No further comments or questions about dependability or reliability!

Here is the sad part. The guy that wins the first one will most likely hack saw the barrel off, add an ATI stock and Tac-star shell holder and buy some cheap enamel paint and paint the entire weapon. Then post a picture of it on Shotgun World Tactical forum and say he wanted a Maverick but won this gun in a drawing, the other nine will end up in pawn shops or on gun broker.

I make a standing offer of $1,500 if any of you win one of these or I will trade you one of my custom built 870 Police Elite which sell for $1,400 and $300 cash for ammo.

I certaintly would want to keep the gun and never shoot it to maintain its value, but it would be really hard to pass up $1500 cash

Isn't it interesting, how easy it is to get people to log onto a site as a gun owner, and enter their name, address and telephone number, with no knowledge of where that information is going? I entered my P.O. Box number for my address. If that disqualifies me, so be it.

I find it interesting that the MAIN Remington Website makes NO MENTION of this giveaway, but the site "Remington.bronco. yada yada" dangles a shotgun giveaway carrot and collects personal information for some drawing to be held long after most entrants will have forgotten about it. Remington's CURRENT PROMOTIONS website makes no mention of this giveaway. Even their SWEEPSTAKES page makes no mention of it.

Call me paranoid, but I just know that a talented web designer can create a fake website that looks really genuine. I'm not saying this site is fake. I'm just saying, why doesn't the Remington MAIN website mention anything about this giveaway? Hmmmm....????

Update: DEEP in the site, there is a teeny tiny link in the "NEWS" section (Press Releases/Press/Corporate news) that then REDIRECTS you to the page "Remington.bronco ...", so it looks like it is legit, but GEEZ! You would think that such big news would be in a banner on their home page!

Well, at least I know now that the page is part of Remington, and not some rogue pirate data collection effort!
