Anyone have any experience in this?? I'd like to strip the semi "textured" finish off the barrel and receiver and and was wondering if this was possible and if anyone has done it, any pointers?

The best way is to bead blast it off and parkerize the weapon. This is a very durable heavy duty finish and will last for years. You are going to get all kinds of advise on new and wonderful finishs but Parkerizing has been around for over 100 years and is still good enough for the 870 Police and many military weapons. I use the heavy zinc park and pre-blacken it with Brownells Zap. The finish on my custom weapons is as black as my ex wifes heart. The zinc soaks up and holds oil in the pores which is how parkerizing works to protect the finish. when bead blasted with a course media more surface area is created and thus more area for pores to retain the oil...... You can find a shop locally to do your entire weapon, then upgrade a few small parts and you turn that Express into a quazi 870P......JD McGuire, Owner

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go. -
I kinda took it into my own hands tonight.. Its a work in progress

If you are going the parkerizing route, I am going to do a shotgun tomorrow, and probably my 870 that is on it's 10 day wait at some point in the future, and I'll throw yours in the tank for free. I have access to a bead blaster so I can shoot it when I do the others.Comment
