    Rifle/Shotgun Combination

Is an Over-And-Under Rifle/Shotgun Combination legal in California? I cannot find any information about it.

    Thanks

Yes, as long as the shotgun barrel is 18" or longer and the overall length is 26" or greater.

Yes, I have used my Valmet 12ga/308 for a couple of decades. It is great in the early fall when you can shoot grouse and bear at the same time....it is really flat and wonderful in a saddle scabbard, the factory scope mounts retain there zero. I always take it as a backup gun.....170 gr flat point @ 2600 FPS...I have never had a piece of game take a step after being hit.

Wouldn't the OAL need to be 30" or greater to comply with the rifle part?

Only if the rifle part is centerfire semi-auto.

                I've got a Savage 24C in .22/20 gauge, and it's a fun little gun:

The Savage 24 series comes in a variety of caliber combos, including .223. Definitely legal in California!

My favorite gun as a kid was my dad's over under .22lr/.410 breach loader. I was always afraid that my little hands would lose grip while pulling that hammer back. Would it fire if I wasn't strong enough to get that hammer to click back, I wondered? Fortunately I never found out what would happen if I did

They do fire if you accidentally let them go. I did it once on a pardner many years ago and for sure scared the heck out of me.

                        .243 Win/12, .30-06/12 and .308/12. CZ-USA is *only* asking $2,000 for it...
