    Need some advice

I have a couple of bucks to spend on a new shotty, and I need to know the relative merits of a Krieghoff K-80 versus a Perazzi MX2000. Also, can either of those be used for home defense, and which would be better? Thanks.

ANY gun can be used to defend a home. Some are just better suited for the job. Long barrels and doorways, hallways do not mix well.

anything and i mean anything can be used for home defense.

You can pour vegetable oil on your floor at night, you can set rubber band traps. You can hang up sheets like ghost. But if you have a gun.. excellent, it doesn't have to be the most tactical shotgun ever made. Even a over and under will be more than a golf club. And when you run out of ammo, you can use it as a club.

Lets see what home defense shotguns have in common.

            Short barrel, Open/Cylinder Choke
            High Capacity 6+1 7+1 8+1
Reliable, usually pump. sometimes semi auto.
In one form of black or the other.

            Thats pretty much it.

The only problem I see is the long barrel and shot capacity.

Other than that. I would rather have an O/U than nothing.

Get the F*** out with that question.

Hire security if you have that kind of cash.

Well, you can always cut the barrel down and duct tape a flashlight/laser on there.
