I am considering the A300 over the 1301.

I have 4 Benelli/HK M1/M2 that I absolutely love, but the A300 has my interest.

While I think Mossberg is built really nicely, overall testing from numerous different shooters shows that they 940 occasionally suffers from FTF and FTE, while the Beretta is more consistent with that. I have the 1301 Tactical and it literally has never had a FTF or FTE with any load I've ran through it, from cheap birdshot to slugs and lots of #4 buck. I considered the Mossbergs before I spent the money on the Beretta and I have not regretted my decision. YMMV.

I generally love Mossbergs, I think they make the best pumps on the market but their semi autos just don't seem to cycle as reliably as the Berettas. Go watch half a dozen YouTube reviews with the guys doing tactical courses and really abusing the guns. The Beretta is the clear standard. Also, if I hadn't bought my 1301 T a year and a half ago and was buying today, I would have bought the A300. The 1301 is better but now twice the money. It's good but it's not twice as good as the A300. Plus I sunk another $700-800 into making mine how I wanted it while the A300 has almost everything you need right out of the box.

The 1301 is a damn fine gun, if you can?t save up a few hundred more the a300 is great for the money, better fore end on it though it doesn?t run the blink gas system. Having shot both side by side I wouldn?t hesitate to get a a300. The 1301 doesn?t need all the extra stuff that gets thrown on there aside from a Reddot mount instead of rail mount. I ran a Jm pro 930 for a while with some orguns bits and pieces thrown in too. Great gun but needed cleaning after about 700 rounds. I sold it and wouldn?t buy another, the 1301 was just hands down better. The 940 is upgraded all around compared to the 930 but the operating system functions the same and I don?t have trigger time on it. I?m getting another 1301 and going to get a a300 to add to the rack too. Having run two classes now with the 1301 I trust it every bit as much as my 590a1?s. I?ll take the 1301 over the m4 any day of the week even though it?s not as cool?. Yet

+1 on the A300UP. Beretta is definitely a few steps ahead in the semi-auto game atm.

Really love my Mossberg pumps, however.

Mossberg has Thunder Ranch versions of the 590 and 940. See the TFB youtubes.

If you're near a Turners, some of the stores I've been to have both the 940 Tactical and A300 Ultima Patrol in stock so you can play with them both and see which one you like better.

I personally went with the A300 because of the fit & finish and the 1301 history, but would've gotten the 940 Tactical with Holosun RDS if the A300 wasn't available.
