Even though it was difficult to pump, they should have advanced the Mossberg 590 to the next phase.

It appears that all of the Gucci/gamer/competition shotguns failed.

Appears the winner for manually operated shotguns is a standard double barrel shotgun.

Appears the winner for semi-auto tubular magazine fed shotguns is the Beretta 1301.

Appears the winner for semi-auto detachable magazine fed shotgun and overall winner is the Saiga-12.

This is kind of a dumb test. Squirting water into the action, letting it freeze and then wondering why guns don't work. This wasn't very scientific and it involved squirting water in weird patterns into the actions.

I guess it's great for clicks but I'm not sure it's realistic.

I suppose that he could have poured water into a can opener, camp stove or putting a working flashlight into container and then freezing it. It's all the same or not.

Now if he turned the actions downward so the water didn't run in, let them sit overnight and then fired them, that would a better test, IMO. He could have done it with various oils and lubes that would be more relevant to me.

Seemed like it was pretty adverse conditions for any of the guns involved.
And field conditions are weird conditions, it ain?t a flat range.
Was this any different then various mud and sand tests?

Watching him beat on them with the bayonet made me cringe. The test would of been better by just leaving them out in the elements. Any gun will fail to function if you have ice in the trigger group or magazine.

This test provides important information to all the tactical operators that hang out here. Only the test just provides part of the answer because it does not answer how the guns perform in heat...and that is the reason to run the hot lava dip test.
