    New 870

Just went and purchased a 870 Tactical today. It will go along with my Remington 11-48 and old side by side double. Now all I have to do is buy some 00 and 000 buck to see which shoot best and check the pattern. Of course the next 10 days will be looooong though!

I've always been a guy who loves his accuracy. I won't own a center fire long gun that shoots over 1 MOA. That being said I've never tested my shotguns for accuracy. I seem to be content with "anything toward the business end gonna be dead" mentality with my shotguns. I find myself really questioning why I can feel so strongly about accuracy for all my other guns spending hours and hundreds of dollars trying to get the best groups yet I don't care about my shotty's. I am genuinely confused with myself

Oh, and congrats on the 870. I love mine and I'm sure you will love yours.

I've been Jonesing for an 870P. Did you get via PPT, or was it for sale in a local shop? Hard to find?

I walked into San Jose Gun Exchange this past Friday and looked around and it was in stock. I thought about it all weekend so today I went a bought it. They may have one other in stock, but I am not positive.

I'm PPTing a nicely enhanced 870P tomorrow.... ten days won't pass fast enough.

First thing you ought to do is go by about 150 rounds of bird shot from walmart and fire them thought it and clean it. The 870's have a tendency of jamming when they are new so it just takes about 150 rounds to break it in.

I bought one not too long ago and the first several rounds were hard to chamber. the action bars need to "break in". after the break in period the shotgun will be flawless.

I am for sure going to shoot some birdshot first just to get used to a pump shotgun. I have a side by side and a semiauto, but this is my first pump.

Thanks. I get by Irvington Arms once in a while, and should put in a standing order with them. Enjoy the shotgun.

I have already bought my first accessory for my 870 and I don't even have it home yet. It is a Daves Metal Works Oversize Safety and I will install it as soon as the 870 gets home. I will probably get a Mesa Tactial Shotshell carrier and that will be it for a bit until I get used to the 870.

Me bad. I doubled check and the 870 is NOT a police it is an Express 870 synthetic 6+1. I guess I got it mixed up with the 870 Police I had looked at and decided that I couldn't afford.

Whats the difference between a synthetic 870 and an 870P?

the differences are mostly cosmetic. i've got the express and love every bit of it. it's been 100% reliable with zero issues since day 1! and all i've really done is run a bore-snake down the barrel after every range session. you won't be disappointed. enjoy!
