    Henry Lever Action 410 Opinions?

Thinking about a lever action Henry depending on what I can find at a decent price.

But would like thoughts on which model the longer version with Infector Chokes or the shorter version with fixed choke. Not fer hunting but possibly a "house gun". Opportunity fer a long bbl LNIB with chokes around $700 is out there but I'm not sure if I want the shorter one. Would like to be able to use slugs or buckshot. So looking for opinions and reason for the opinion.

    Thanks guys!

I have a Mossberg 500 in 410 with both bbls already but would like a lever action.

The long barrel makes for a slightly milder report and stretches the effectiveness of .410 shotshells to the max. The H018G-410R is a more compact configuration with a 20″ round cylinder bore barrel, ideal for brush hunting with birdshot, defense with buckshot, or harvesting small deer with slugs. <snip>
A little lighter than its 24″ counterpart, this shotgun is easier to carry in the field or handle in tight quarters.

Thanks for the insight and the info clip. I'm also leaning towards the short bbl also.

The long version in LNIB condition I saw fer a little over $700 I don't remember if it's a side gate, would have to search it out again, is at a Cabelas in TX if you do an online gun room search it might still pop up if still available. They'll ship to a Cabelas or Brass Pro for free (or so the guy down in Mesa AZ told me and he told they don't charge a transfer fee).

      Still thinking about it!

      Addendum: YEP a side gate!
