    SxS Soft Case

Does anyone make a full length soft case (not a takedown case) for a Side by Side Shotgun?

I'm not looking for anything custom made, but it would still be interesting to see.

    Thanks

Bob: have a look at Boyd's, they have soft cases for just about everything.

I don't think anyone makes a case "specifically" for a SXS?

        Boyd's
Boyt? Great cases, but beware their brass zippers (easy to scratch the gun). I don't recall SxS-specific soft cases because mine all fit "standard" cases. I really like the old SKB soft canvas cases. If I wanted a SxS case, I'd look at Jeff's Outfitters, CSMC/Galazan, Kevin's, Orvis, Beretta Gallery, etc.

I use my existing cases and they work, but they are a little long.
I've started looking at rifle cases and I'd like to find something that fits them a little closer.

Thanks, I've looked there and didn't really find anything.

          Yep, I've looked at those.

If your current cases are just too long for your doubles, that is easily remedied.
The big box stores like Walmart typically stock long cases (52"+) because their customer base shoots mostly pumps and semis, which are several inches longer than doubles, even with the same barrel length. Shorter shotgun cases (44"-48") are out there, but you need to look around a bit.

Here is a 48" Boyt on sale at Midway:

              Here is a 44" Boyt:

Here is a Boyt 40" shotgun case (not a rifle case):

Not hard to find these. What length are you looking for?

I knew I should have posted the length I need.
I need a 44" interior length (includes room for extended chokes).

I had looked at Midway and seen those.
Don't think I want to spend $100 a case and I don't like the metal zipper on the bottom.

I'll probably take a trip to Big 5, just to see what they've got (and to do a little measuring).

I've been using some 52" Allen cases and I don't care for the extra length, it'd be nice to have something sized correctly.

44", with pouch, $50 at Amazon:

44", with pouch, $85 from Evolution Gear:

                  Lots of cases out there.

I just use a midway branded rifle case. They are much thicker than a shotgun sock and they have 2 velcro straps to keep the gun from moving inside.
I have no quams about tossing the gun in the bed of my truck and driving over rough terrain all day whereas a shotgun sock would allow the gun to get damaged.

Currently, it's for an SKB 385 that has both 20 ga & 28 ga barrel sets.
                            It's 44" with extended chokes.
I was tired of putting it in a 52" soft case, jus wanted something that fit it better.
I don't need it to hold both sets of barrels.

I say "currently", because I usually have my eyes set on getting something else.

Pictures of it can be found here:
