Slug loads with what I have

I'm going to try to work up some slug loads with Clays, Longshot and Red Dot. The hulls will be Fiocchi with 606 primers or Cheddite with 209 primers. If anyone has thoughts on starting points they would be welcomed. If I blow myself up all my guns go to charity.

Just start out at with whatever your normal trap loads are. Yu don't have to worry about blowing up with loads in the Low Pressure Range. Where things get touchy is when you get up into the Butt Kicker Range where subbing a different Primer or wad will have a dramatic effect. You don't need this type of load for 99%of your shooting.

If you are going for Polar Bears just buy some Brenneke Slugs

You can use Lee or Lyman Slugs in your regular Trap Wads (WAA12) and not have to change anything, and Fold crimp shut. You don't need to use new hulls for these loads used AA's will work just fine and can be loaded on your existing single stage press.

If you are looking at BPI components like Thug Slugs or others they sell they have loads in the Slug Loading Book they sell for like $13. That book will tell you everything you need to know about Slug Loading.

The easiest way to go is a new primed hull, a Thug Slug, some powder (per book) and then Roll crimp shut. You will need a Roll Crimp Tool from them as well.

    It ain't that hard!

      Thanks Randy,

I found exactly what I need in BPI's "Load of the Week" section! Just need some BRP-12 wads which I will order sometime next week.
