I know there are purists but in my opinion there are ways to improve upon a classic. And you did that like an ace.
But the bowling pin you made is too nice to shoot, so that's a negative. -

Guys, stop storing your pics on an outside server. They are nothing but problems. You can store them right on your computer in the "My Pictures Folders" for free, and not have to worry about losing them or getting them held hostage like Photobucket did a few years ago.
I have over 2000 pics saved on mine. Believe me it is much easier!

I could see them an hour or so ago, now they are gone.
There have been others issues with CG lately, double posts, posts not always visible, etc. This might be a related issue...

came out well! I have an absolute beater model 11 from 1916 with almost all the finish gone that I am going work up like your example. Seems fairly simple, and if I'm not mistaken you used a 870 tube extension correct?Comment

Yes, any Remington mag extension will screw on, but you need a spacer because the threads are longer on the 11.
I had a model 11, similar to that, except the bluing was decent enough when I started, so I kept it that way. Like a fool, I put it on GunBroker, with what I thought was a ridiculous buy it now. Sold in a day for that.
I got a Savage now that I'm using to make a replacement.
