Mossy 500 question?

How many rounds is a mossy 500 supposed to hold? is there a way to make it hold more? Mine only holds 2+1.

Hehe, theres a stick in the magazine tube that blocks the capacity. Its there for hunting restrictions, just take it out .

yep, take the end cap off(the one that holds the barrel in place), stick a few fired shells in the magazine and a woodden dowl will come out. Pull it out and have fun. just remember to stick it back in if you are in the field hunting.

oh it should hold 5 in the tube.

Haha I had the same problem, I felt a little silly when I was told that there was a wooden dowel in the tube. The mossy rep was like "Are you serious?, Unscrew that big thing at the end of your shotgun and pull out the stick."

Heads up, there are usually two rubber rings around the dowel, can be a bit of a pain to fish them out if they come off.

Just make sure you keep the spacer dowel in case you ever go hunting.

If you get a Remington, they give you a deluxe model usually green plastic plug that limits you to 2+1.
