Pinning, stock-stops, etc... for fixed stocks

What is an acceptable method to pin those evil adjustable stocks?

Would two self tapping screws do the trick or do I need to break out the epoxy and roll pins?

Two screws definitely anchor it so it will never ever move with those in place.

How many features do you have on your semi auto Shotgun?

What shotgun? Where is the recoil spring?

Bemelli M2 - in the stock....

CA assault weapons laws for shotguns are similar but different than those for rifles.

Semi-auto shotguns can not legally have a folding/telescoping stock and a pistol grip or vertical grip. [PC 30515(a)(6)]

          Therefore...
If the semi-auto shotgun does not have a pistol grip or a vertical grip, then it can legally have a folding/telescoping stock.
If the semi-auto shotgun does not have a folding/telescoping stock, then it can legally have a pistol grip or a vertical grip.

          Penal Code 30515
          (a) Notwithstanding Section 30510, “assault weapon” also means any of the following:
          (6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following:
          (A) A folding or telescoping stock.
          (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.
          (7) A semiautomatic shotgun that does not have a fixed magazine.
          (8) Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

Right. It is Hatsan Escort MP-A which has a original pistol grip and a fixed stock, semi-auto, tube-feed.

Piston is in front. No piston or rat-tail in the stock. Nothing in the stock except the long butt stock retaining bolt.

I am changing the LOP. I already have a adjustable stock and have already chosen a LOP and installed screws which secure the stock to one position. Stock stops do not fit this stock as far as I know but I didn't try one.

The question stands as: do I need more than screws that are installed though the both the pieces of the butt stock as to immobilize it effectively making it a fixed stock or should I go further before installing.

I could do a few different things to make it lot more permanent.

              Not in the stock.

Anyone have suggestion for where to get a cheap pack of roll pins larger diameter and able to be cut down? What diameter are you using if you roll pinned yours?

Sorry if this is old news, I just never actually pinned a stock before and want to err on the side of caution in this corrupt state. AR's are all Thordo or Magpul Fixed Carbine. I ordered a rivet gun.

I am not familiar with the stock.

For the M4 many replace screws in the adjustment mechanism so the level cannot be moved.

As the stock absorbs recoil / takes impact, I would be concerned about drilling a hole into the stock. Would this become a failure point?

A 1/16" stainless pin might work as the lock mechanism takes the impact.
Stainless as it would be easy to see.

Lots of u tube videos on making an adjustable m4 stock fixed

Those videos might give you inspiration for ways to fix your stock

Yeah that is not the stock. The Escort MP-A in CA has a fixed PG stock that looks a bit like an A2 stock and it has a two shell carrier on one side.

The new stock I have used screws on and am pinning or riveting is a DLG TACTICAL.

Yup, structural integrity is a concern as it is polymer. We will see how it holds up.

let us know your fix / solution!

I don't know how the stock adjusts... So it's a guess

Why not shorten the fixed stock to the new length of pull?

I thought about chopping the stock but it is hollow polymer and tapered so I would need a way to attach the butt pad again as well as resize the pad. It seems like the replacement stock is an easier solution, just have to make it permanently fixed. Some people say if it takes a separate tool (screw driver) to remove the screws before it will adjust, that would be fine, but I will rivet or roll pin it. If it breaks with 3" magnums I will post, but I think it will be solid.

Ended up like this with one rivet on each side. Solid AF, polymer seems soft enough that the holes drilled probably won't crack.

Hopefully when I get my 1301 I won't decide to change the LOP.
