I have a question Remington model 11 12 guage US Flaming Bomb

Hi, I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get the locking block latch pin out of my receiver so I can pull the bolt out.
There is no notch on the right side of the receiver to push the pin through.

I own another model 11 just like this one (but in much better condition) and it is the same, no notch.
All the youtube disassembly videos are showing a notch.

The point of the pen in the pic is where the notch is located on others Ive

Sent the three pages of the NRA Guide to Firearms Assembly on the Remington Model 11. 1980 addition - mine has the pages falling out - but still legible.

Did not notice the variant you were describing, but my eyesight sucks.

    Good luck.

*Am I allowed to post the pages of the NRA book on this site? It seems like a copyright infringement if I do - if they wanted to punish me, but would they punish me - ?

I have one like that and you need to use a smaller diameter punch and push out the pin right to left and out of the hole on the left side of the receiver. On most of them you push out the pin from left to right through the half circle cut out on the ejector opening. This cut out allows you to push the pin out in that directions, but in some models you need to use a smaller punch so that you can push the top part of the pin only out the left side. My guess is that Remington cut out that machine step to save money at some point.

If you are looking to deep clean your gun you can remove the wood and dump it in a solvent tank or bucket of Diesel and let the thing soak for a while. Then hose it out with Brake Cleaner.

Then oil it up really good. They will run forever because he designed the gun as a piece of machinery instead of a gun. JMB recommended 30 Wt Motor oil for lube. I went one step farther with Amsoil 20-50 Racing Oil.

I recommend Amsoil 20-50 "Racing Oil" which is the best static and running lubricant there is. It stays on the job better than anything I have ever used. Been using it in all my machines in my shop for 30+ years and especially in my Air Compressors. It coats the inside of the tank so it doesn't rust out from the inside.

It is the best gun lube I have ever tried. I bottle it up in little plastic bottles and keep one with every gun I own.

Oh one more thing,,, If you call up Art's Gun Shop he can tell you how to get that pin out of a Rem 11 (1-636-944-3630)

Or just watch this video of him taking one apart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfkOMqWU6g4
