    Mrs 11011500a
I like my Charles Daly the stock is hollow but I filled it to the wieght and balance I like and I love it I have had no problems with it, I hit what I am aiming at and it is my first shotgun. I have had it a month or so, it is easy to tear apart to clean but parts don't seem that readily availible though.
Mr 11011500a says for the same money you should go for the Mossberg, he has one that is his beater gun and for the money it does its job.

I see them sell for around $175. For that same money I would pick up a older used Mossy 500. The mossy 500's have a ton of after market accessories, interchangable barrels with interchangable chokes as well.

It's fine as a first shotgun. Reliable, 870-knockoff, easy to clean, etc. You can nail clays with it pretty easily as well.

Yes I have seen a gun that is bad for clays, I was at the Remington Factory and they took us to Illion Gun Glub and opened the gun safes up and let me pick any gun in the safe. Here are all these high dollar Remingtons to pick from so since I had never shot a 28ga, I grab an 1100 28 ga. So, on this, the most embarassing day of my life I bust 11 of 50......had to be gun. .......... I know, it was me not the gun but I now have the highest respect for those guys busting calys with 28ga and .410's.........

If you're going to a gun fight, take a shotgun. If you can't take a shotgun, don't go.

Buy an American made Remington 870. The job you save might be your own.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
