Get an autoloader if you can afford it. You don't have to worry about operation mistakes, plus there's less felt recoil.

Mossberg combo pack. Comes with a 12 gauge shotgun made by Mossberg. Comes with a trap barrel at 28 inches and a home defense barrel. Everything you need.

          I guess I can't go classic!
Sure you can. Find a nice, used 870 Wingmaster Magnum 3" (NOT an Express). It will most likely have a 28" RemChoke barrel, Nice wood and cut checkering, much prettier and nicer gun than any MossTurd pump ever built. Extra barrels are easy to find for 870s, new and used. Not only are MossTurds fugly, but they don't feel good in the hand.

            What's a mossberg? (Sounds like a fungus)

            Best regards,

The new 870 Fieldmaster model looks like a decent shotgun:

I have 4 or 5 870’s and 2 Mossbergs. I’d go with Mossberg as parts for the 870 are uber tough to find and demand a premium on places like gunbroker or ebay. Mossberg still manufactures and has decent part availability.

I have been shooting 870s of various configurations since 1965, including fairly high volume trap when I was younger, and I have never needed to find a part. Because nothing ever breaks. I had a MossTurd once, but I was embarrassed to be seen with it so I dumped it off, cheap. MossTurd vs Express might be a tossup, but MossTurd vs vintage Wingmaster is no contest.

They've made over eleven million 870s and are still going. To put it in perspective, it's in the top ten firearms by total production and is the best selling sporting arm ever. Even if Remington were to never sell another part, someone would tool up for it.
