Browning Citori CXS 32 for me!

Well I have one week until I can get my new CXS 32 out of Jail. I was able to trade my XT that was in nearly perfect shape to PSA almost strait across for it and I'm already know I'm going to love it!

The only thing that hurt was the $250 in Sales Tax I had to pay. 10.75 %! wow!

So I'll drive down and pick it up next Wednesday.

Let you all know how it shoots when I get back it, as it is going directly to the range for patterning. Will feel good to have a proper shotgun for Skeet adn Sptg Clays. I already have my cart built for Sptg Clays!

Yeah mine is a X super simple golf cart.

The Tool Bag holds 4 boxes of ammo and the other thing is a Water Bottle holder. it folds up to nothing, and it was free. Had to buy the gun holders and the bag. So I've got maybe $40 in it.

Now visualize the gun in the gun holders and you're seeing the future.

Congratulations, you will like the new gun...But the wait sucks

Having a cart is the way to go when shooting Sporting Clays.

So I picked the gun up yesterday and shot it today. It shoots real nice, but I don't like the recoil pad as it is too stiff and doesn't do much. Gonna Replace it with a squishy one.
I have a ways to go to get to where I like what is going on and start having fun instead of complete embarrassment. My first round today was abysmal.

I did get to shoot with a guy who put me onto a book I need to get that explains everything from the beginning, which is what I am missing.
Without a firm command of the fundamentals it is hard to get good.

With no idea of what the fundamentals actually are, I am way behind the curve.

I found this book to be helpful.

Additionally, there are some practice drills that you can do inside your house with an unloaded weapon.

Here are a couple of video links:

YOU will never shoot better than your basic move and mount. If you will just do this drill twice a day for 5-10 minutes for 21 days straight you will improve your field percentage on shots per bird by 35-50%. Until everything you do with the gun is automatic and happens without thought you will never be able to put all of your focus on the target. Do the drill you will get better. The title of the book is "Shotgunning in the Automatic Mind." By Warren Watson

The guy who recommended it comes to our shoots occasionally up from LA. The few times I have met him he has provided more useful info on shooting than any one else on the field. and judging from the guns he brings he is a dedicated Shotgunner. I can't even pronounce the names of most of them but I do remember him shooting 4 24/25 rounds in a row one Sunday with a Win M42 ! So I feel he is qualified to recommend good sources of info.

I was looking for a dead bottom line source for the "Basic Fundamentals of Skeet." Like from the start, "I don't know which end of the bullet the gun comes out of" level, or I don't know nothing level of fundamentals!

By starting at the beginning with a relatively clean slate, I can remove any mis-conceptions I have, and stop any bad habits from forming before they start. This is the same type of training I get from Front Sight and I know it works. The problem is always finding a reliable source of info on whatever subject you are looking to learn.

This book also covers all aspects of Shotgunning,,, including Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays and Field Shooting.

I will follow up on it after I get it. Bought off Amazon.

Congrats on the new addition to the family!

Question: you mentioned going to pattern the gun. If you don't have an adjustable stock, what are your options? Do you just want to know if it shoots to the left (for example)

I ask because I want to visit the pattern board with my 725, but I'm thinking I should get an adjustable comb installed first.

NO...hit the pattern board to see if you NEED the adjustable option.

Take your CZ with you to see the differences
