    Outstanding Customer Service...

I was running out of Clay powder and one other powder I had in stock was Titegroup. In order to switch I needed a Hornady 351 powder bushing to give me a similar load as Clays (1oz at 1200 fps).

I looked around the Internet, Googled, visited Brownell's, Graf's, Amazon, Midwest shooters etc.. No one had it.

I remembered that Spolar had some bushings in the back when I went to pick up my machine a while ago, so I called them.

No, they did not have it in stock. They OFFERED to make one for me with their lathe at a cost of $15.

It arrived a few days ago. Now, that is customer service. I guess one gets what one pays for.

With great customer service declining almost everywhere it was nice to see it from a family owned USA business.

    Nice!

My mom just got a fireplace cover to keep the cold air out when the fire is off. Nothing existed in inventory. But one vendor started asking her what she was doing and they fabricated something out of clear plastic for half the price she was expecting to pay.

Hornady bushings are not real hard to make. The number on the bushing is the diameter if the hole it them. so #351 has a .351 hole in it. I believe they are 1.000 on the OD and 1.00 long.

If you have the Powder/Bushing Chart you can make whatever you need. Since I've never changed Powder or Shot loads on my machines I have never changed bushings, but could if I wanted to.

The kicker is getting the overall length of the bushing exactly the same s the thickness of the charge bar. That way you won't get powder leakage.

          I don’t have a lathe.

Also, for a business the labor cost to set up the lathe and make a one off run is a lot more than the $15 they charged me.

I would make one for myself just because the lathe is 15 feet from my Reloading Machines. However I wouldn't make one for someone else for $15 unless they were a very good friend and had to have one quickly.

It would take me 15 minutes to make one, but I don't really like Reinventing the wheel if they are readily available at 3 different stores within 20 miles of me. And I damn sure wouldn't make one for $15 for just anyone!!

Spolar are good people for sure. This doesn't surprise me at all.

Is a MEC powder bushing same thickness as a Hornady/Spolar/PosnessWarren/RCBS powder bushing? Precision Reloading has adapters.
