Who cuts in "combs" in your shotgun stock?

    Hi -
I live in So Cal, and all my buds tell me I need to have a comb cut into my
    Browning 12 gauge.

Is there a local guy that does that? Any idea, what it would cost?

    Any info would be appreciated

You might want to get the gun professonally fitted before having work like that done.

I had a friend do mine, all it cost was the price of the hardware.

        Here are a couple...

Had one fitted by Graco (along with the lp15 gracoil unit), the comb was relatively inexpensive and they did a fantastic job. Wait was significant, but once they finally got to me in line they had both the adjustable comb and the other unit done in a couple days. Very nice folks.

Use some hi-density foam and blue tape to make a temporary comb. It will test wether or not you need to raise the height of your stock.

Why are your friends telling you to make your fixed stock into one with an adjustable comb?

Do they all have mullets and think you need one too???
                    Or
Did you shoot their adjustable gun and your Tran score went up 9 points?

I'm fine getting it done if it will improve the fit.

Are you experienced shooting clays? Are you really tall or have a very skinny face or have a longer neck?

Also, weight changes. I had to have my comb adjusted after I lost my Covid weight (21 pounds so far) which got rid of some of the padding on my face.

This lady knows a little about gun fit. Only a minute of your life to watch and then check for yourself.

                          HermosaBeach -
The reason, I think, I need the comb installed, is - - -
Shot the same model - Browning 725 Citori Sporting, with a comb stock, and instantly was able to line up the front bead and mid bead. Shot 22/25.
Been having problems with aligning the sights on my new gun. Thinking of having just a "bead" on the end installed, like the gun above had, rather than the multi-color HIVIZ Litepipes that came with this gun. My clay count went up with the comb 725 Sporting. The guys had me mount my gun, as they looked down the sights where my eyes were, and both said I would improve my shooting, with a comb stock, because my eyes were NOT aligned down the rail.

Change out the color Hi-viz pipe to the white pipe. It will make a difference. If that’s not enough, color it black with a sharpie once you know the gun fits you.

If it feels good and shoots good then why do it?
