OK that looks useful, never seen it done like that. Seems like it would work on a pump gun as well.

That seems more competition than defensive. I was always taught to reload with your weak hand and keep your dominant hand on the grip...for all firearms.

Got lucky once with beretta and the other one I had to order from the uk. Mag load in the uk seems to have them pretty often though.

Genuine Beretta Part #C7C940. Upgrade your Beretta semi-auto shotgun to include the lifter hold open function, resulting in faster and easier loading.

                  Beretta is out of stock

1301 Tactical Lifter (3”) Pro Style
Unprecedented speed and ease of loading thanks to this lifter derived from the world of competition that remains in the "raised" position when the bolt is closed, allowing you to insert new shells into the magazine much faster, either individually or in dual/quad load mode, and eliminating the risk of thumb bite.

This is the short version of the lifter introduced with the 1301 Comp PRO which maintains all the functions and makes them available for all shotguns that have a shorter lifter as standard.

                  Compatibility

All Beretta semiautomatic shotguns with lifter for 3"/76MM shells in 12 gauge that are equipped as standard with item #C5D552 (or the corresponding trigger group #C8A275 or #C89785), such as:

                  1301 Tactical
                  A400 Upland
                  A400 Xcel
                  A400 Xplor
                  A400 Lite
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

The comp lifter stays up when the bolt is closed.

I'm not sure how this would work with a tradition shell lifter.

Guns that can allow a round not captured to escape and end up locking up the gun, this technique could be bad. I had a round not locked in in an old rem 1100 years and years ago while hunting as a kid.

I seem to recall having to get a stick and to remove the trigger to clear the issue.

I have the Beretta pro lifter installed in my 1301. I've messed around with loading 2 shells at a time like that but have to practice a lot more.

Here's the part I have. Arrived in less than 5 days after I ordered it.

Exactly. MagLoad is the shop, but it's an OEM Beretta part. Ships from overseas but arrived very fast.

I've been trying to make this work on the Mossbergs but it is difficult to get the shells in line with the mag tube when you try to handle two at once. as soon as the front round drops down in line with the mag tube it is hard to get the other round behind it to push it in.

The newer guns all have loading ports that are optimized for fast loading. They are longer and they don't have as much stuff in the way of the mag tube.

I'll keep playing with it. I have plenty of Dummy Rounds to play with. I might try a mod to the lifter to form a ramp on it to guide the rounds in better. we'll see?.
