    KelTec KSG/KS7 Recoil Pad Review

Tried my buddy's KS7 for the first time in this video. I used to think that rumors of the KSG/KS7 unpleasant kick were from whiners who never shot a pump gun before. I was wrong haha!

The light weight polymer bullpup really transfers ALL of the recoil into your shoulder. Shooting bird-load felt like shooting slug. Adding a MOTac pad takes a lot of the kick out of it. Not all, but a fair amount and well worth replacing the factory pad with. https://youtu.be/URQ6Ym_0gdk

That was likely one of the most unpleasant firearms I've ever fired.

Haha, I agree. With the factory pad, it reminded me of the first I fired a .44 magnum revolver.

I haven't fired a KSG so can't report on it. The only difference I could think would be that fully loaded the KSG weighs ~1.5lbs more than a KS7. The extra weight in the KSG presumably soaks up a bit of the recoil inertia. The KS7, lacking that 1.5lb weight buffer, transfers more of the recoil impulse to the user; in theory.

Overall, either gun keeps up KelTec's reputation for POS guns.
