    410 AR upper

So…..I’m looking to buy a 410 AR upper and a lower to make a 410 shotgun. It would be just a play toy nothing serious. What magazine lock makes the gun legal when I put it together. I bought a VR80 12ga and it’s ok but a 410 would be easier on my jacked up shoulder., the VR80 has a mag lock that you must break the action to drop the mag. What kind of mag lock is that. Is that the AR mag lock? I did a search and a bunch of stuff comes up when I search AR mag lock. And is there a better one out there? I can reload 410 so it’s not a huge issue for ammo.
    Thanks.

Does setting up your 410 in a fixed mag configuration make it legal in Calif.?

I actually saw the ad and I thought about it but the distance makes it cost prohibitive. It would cost me about 8 gallons and it’s 2 hours one way to his location. There just isn’t enough savings to buy it. For someone that’s closer it would be worth it with the added ammo as a bonus. Most are out of stock online but I found someone who had them in stock so I ordered a new one for $325. I ordered the Maglock last night once I found the website and I’m hoping i can get one of those cheap $180 complete lowers from Sportsman. I’m not looking at dumping a ton of money in this. I would need to play around with loads to see what reloads would work best. I dont even know if i wanna keep it once I build it

Kind mind that CA laws for shotguns are similar but different than those for rifles and pistols.
So, what may be legal for rifles, may not be legal for shotguns.

In order to be CA legal:
            1. Shotguns must have a minimum barrel length of 18" and a minimum overall length of 26". [PC 17180(a),(b)]
            2. Semi-auto shotguns must have a fixed magazine. [PC 30515(a)(7)]
            3. Semi-auto shotguns can not have a folding/telescoping stock and a pistol grip or any type of vertical grip or a thumbhole stock. [PC 30515(a)(6)]
            4. Shotguns can not have a revolving cylinder. [PC 30515(a)(8)]
