Browning Citori 725 Sporting 12 gauge 30" Barrel

Looking to purchase a Browning Citori 725 Sporting 12 gauge with a 30" ported barrel. Anyone shot one before? Is this a reliable gun?

I have that exact gun I got a year ago as my first shotgun.

Yes…. It’s reliable. Extremely! The only thing mine has really needed has been a lower firing pin, which is $7 and a few minutes to change.

I put half a roll of nickels in the butt stock to lighten the front end a bit.

I have a 12ga also. It is a well made, well balanced gun.
I like it and am happy with the purchase.

I have the "field" version with a 28" barrel and have shot well over 3,000 rounds through it at this point. I'm really happy with the purchase, but the breech is still really tight. I'm not complaining, but the tolerances are pretty crazy on it. It has never failed me and I've put it through it's paces. I was shooting clays 3 days a week for around 2 years. No issues.

I wish I could get it properly fitted though. I've adjusted over the years, but always felt that the Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon shotguns fit me better for some reason. That said. It's a great shotgun. I'll never sell mine. You'll likely have it forever.

            Nice shotgun.

I bought this same Shotgun when they came out. I'm very happy with it. I also shoot left handed and it shoots straight for me.

I shoot in the 70+% with it shooting Sporting Clays.

I'm not a fan of porting, but it only came with it at the time. Browning now makes a non ported model and a left handed model.

I'm not going to replace it, since I shoot well with it.

No issues with it. I bought it due to the 3" chamber in case I want to take it hunting. This is Brownings first 3" chambered Sporting clay gun.

Interesting, mine is a 2-3/4" gun. But then, it is the Golden Clays edition.
                Purchased it earlier this year.

"This is Brownings first 3" chambered Sporting clay gun."

Close, but not entirely correct. I have a Citori Feather XS Sporting, non-ported, 30" barrels, 3" chambers, bought new maybe 18 years ago. Only thing is, it's a .410. Love the gun.

That's funny...I sold my Silver Pigeon once I shot my Browning.

I've heard some guys on here say, if the Browning fits you, you won't like the Beretta.

Ordered the Browning, from Bob Millers gun center in Deleware. Just about the only place that actually had one in stock. Should be delivered to my FFL dealer next week, and then wait the 10 days before I get to check it out !

Well, if you want to take a drive down south to Moore-N-Moore, you can try mine out.

Thanks for the offer ceh383. That's very generous of you. From what I remember, I might have to have the stock cut 3/4" to 1". The gun comes with the thick Inflex stock pad, but I believe its only 1 piece. So, from what I've been thinkin', cut the stock, or remove the Inflex think pad, and get a thin one.
I checked the tracking today, its suppose to be delivered at my gun shop on Thursday. I'm counting the days ! Wife doesn't know yet, but its still cheaper than a expensive set of golf clubs ! ! ! !
