    Clays At Birds Landing Today...

...my son's headed to the Mississippi flyway to hunt ducks next week and he wanted to get some clays in before the trip so we're headed out to Birds Landing this morning for 100 clays each.

I'll let you know how it is out there w/a after action report this afternoon.

Have only shot there a couple of times, but really enjoyed their Sporting Clays course. And they have rental shotguns.

When I was there the clubhouse/lunch counter was due for a remodel though.

    Have fun!

Fun time with my son at Birds Landing. The place is in great shape, all the station were running and the weather was perfect. My son was shooting his Winchester SX3 and I had my Browning Citori Ultra Sporter, we both shot well but we worked on his technique mostly and didn't keep score, I'll admit, he shot better than I did today.

They're taking reservations at Birds Landing for the clays course so it never got crowded, at the most there were 4 groups out on the course and we never had to wait for a station to open up.

It's a great place to shoot clays. I've been there a few times.

Thanks for the link, Brad, I want to go down to Coyote Valley next and give it a go.

Bird's Landing, Rooster Ranch, Camanche Hills and Coyote Valley are all in the greater Bay Area, and are all fun places to shoot at.

A CalGuns meetup would be fun at Comanche Hills.

Looks like Rooster Ranch is permanently closed. My oldest daughter lives in Discovery Bay. I didn't realize that Birds Landing is only 30 minutes away from her. I think I should visit soon and more often...

Forgot to mention this, the Birds Landing gun shop has a full rack of shotguns: trap/clay and camo duck gun autos, pumps, OU’s and SxS’s, they had a good amount of new handguns in their display cabinet as well.
