I am thinking about getting a Semi auto shotgun mosty for trap shooting and maybe some bird. Not looking to spend more than $1500 or so. Looked at the Cordoba and the Tenyes Gold as most likely option. what do you think?

At $1,200 and change, there is no better, sweeter than Benelli Legacy at this moment.
Absolutely beautiful gun at a steal of a price. Inertia operated - no messy gas system and crud acumulating inside the action.
Take a look here:

Thanks. what about the ComforTech. Is it worth having and getting the cordoba?Comment

I can say that I've handled the Benelli action and the Browning Gold Gas system. Personally I prefer the gas system since the felt recoil is less in the gas gun. Also, the action of the Benelli is not as easy to take apart and put back together (at least from Dad's perspective). He's always calling me up to put it back together for him after he gets it apart. The barrel is part of the action. On the Gold, the barrel goes into the action like more traditional guns. *shrug* what can I say, I'm slightly biased.
I have to say that that sample does have some pretty wood. But then I generally get compliments about the wood on my Gold. I'd say handle and shoot both if you can before making your decision.

I am a complete amatuer but after a lot of reading I chose a Beretta 391. The guy at Pacific Sporting Arms told me he thinks the Berretta 391 family is the best semi auto by far and he carries the Benelli semi autos as well.Comment

Benelli isn't worth it. I don't like the feel and the action. It kicks too hard too. Try a lot of em before you pick one up.Comment

If trap shooting is your game then a Browning BT 99 and get a Remy 870 for hunting for around 1500.
Now to answer your question. The most durable semi auto is Benelli. But it's not a trap gun.
Trap guns are trap guns and the hold is different than sporting clay/skeet/hunting guns.
The 391 extrema would be my second choice.
These recommendations are for reliability only fit and finish are up to you.
Good luckI move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.
When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.Comment

Benelli SBEII is the way to go. I think they are very easy to take apart. They don't get very dirty since there is no gas system. The recoil is very manageable as well. The comfortech makes a noticeable difference. Yes $1500 is pretty expensive, but it will last forever

I like the 11-87 or the 1100
Never shot trap tho.

If you've got $1500 to spend get a Benelli Super Black Eagle II. It will be the last shotgun you ever buy. Reliable as heck and it can shoot everything from 2 3/4 inch shells to compete in trap shoots up to 3.5 inch magnum shells to kill Turkeys and Geese.Comment
