    Trap at Prado

We shot at Prado yesterday on field 2 (Sunday) and noticed the trajectory of the clays were noticeability lower than when I shot there earlier during the week or what we have experienced at Oaktree

The puller told us that they lower the angle on the weekend "to make it easier on everyone"

Is this normal or were we being fed a line?

My guess it was the colder weather slowing down the machines, and the puller spewing BS. But the trap fields at Oaktree have a defininate incline and the clays are thrown in a manner that they don/t prematurely break on the slope of the hill. The clays at Prado may have looked like they were flying flat.

Humm...We shot the same field on Thursday and they sure looked like they flew higher. Might have been the amount of coffee consumed or old age grabbing hold

Make sense about Oaktree. I will mention that to my wife when she gets home.

It's actually the tilt of the earth. On that day there was more gravitational pull on the Southern Hemisphere, giving the illusion the the ground was higher on it access than it actually was.

Just adjust your sights on these days and you will never notice.

prado's trap machines are all janky.

although this is why i like shooting there. that variable makes it more challenging.

Trap targets are to be in the #2 hole and reach an elevation of, can't remember at so many feet from the machine. That way they are legal targets for ATA and PITA shoots Anything else you are being fed a line. High targets are easier to hit than low targets.
