    Shotgun Clay Games

Trap, Skeet, 5 Stand and Sporting Clays.
What do you think is easiest to get good at? Not to master it, just become reasonably good.
    Why?
Rank them from easiest to hardest if you have time.

    trap
    skeet
    5 stand
    sporting clays.

trap is easiest to learn since the clay only comes from 1 machine in the center of the field right in front of you. you only have to react to a limited arc of fire (120 degrees i think? maybe 145 degrees. )

        Trap, limited target variation.
Skeet, two machines, targets always on the same flight path.
Sporting Clays, huge variety of targets, no two courses are the same.
5-Stand, huge variety of targets, no two courses are the same, multiple machines make it hard to remember where the target is coming from.

Some merit to that. How do we qualify good? Am I good at juggling 1 ball if most everyone can do as well? Or do I have to be some measure better than most to be good.

Many will suggest that trap is easier to shoot, but harder to master.
TMK skeet "long run" surpasses trap "long run" substantially...lending credence to that view. To me trap is more mental and that's typically where dropped birds come from.

basically no one expect to shoot straight 100's, let alone 1000 at Clays. Where as 100's are not rare at higher levels of competition in trap or skeet.

But are the high scores similar in both American Skeet and International Skeet?

Low mount vs high mount, and International throws clays faster.

Dunno. I would suspect international skeet "long run" to be lower than American skeet. 10 seconds of research should sort out if it's lower than American trap.

                Then there's bunker trap.

I wanna try ZZ bird. Martinez supposedly has it.

Argentina clays, particularly the 25-target variety, is pretty wild. Kind of a subset of sporting clays, but I’d estimate that’s the most difficult clay game.

Otherwise I’d echo others: trap, skeet, then 5-stand/SC. Any given 5-stand or sporting clays course can be set up with overlapping difficulty depending on the presentations, so you can’t really rank those two against each other.

Comanche Hills has their Grouse Bunker shoot. Haven't seen anyone shooting it, but did find videos

What's the difference between trap, skeet, and sporting clays?

One's for cranky old men, one's for cranky old women, one's called sporting clays

Oh, and all three are dumbed down versions of their international counterpart.

Skeet is easiest because the target path never changes.
                          Then trap then sporting clays.

                              ><

I'm going side step which is best with which is best to start at and learn to shoot clays-----Skeet

Many different shot presentations(incoming, outgoing, crossers, etc) that build skills which cross over to the other clay games.
