What M4 to get?

I’m looking at a M4 (don’t want the Beretta). What stock or finish to get? I’m leaning towards the M1014 but see mixed reviews on the stock. However if purchased separately the stock is crazy expensive. My thinking was to get this model and if I hate the stock just buy a traditional stock for it. Is my thinking off, am I missing anything? I’ve never been a fan of pistol grip stocks on a shotgun. I’ve always felt it increased the feel of recoil over a traditional stock but maybe that’s my technique?

I went the M1014 route. I decided I did not care to have screw in chokes for this particular shotgun. I also planned to flip the stock immediately. It wasn’t bad, and from an aesthetics point of view I preferred it.

I sold the stock for close to 1K and purchased a used PG stock for just under 100. I don’t know what the market is like anymore but on eBay and GB, the stocks were going for over 1k.

I’m looking to pick up a field stock at some point as I am more familiar with straight stocks on a shotgun.

Pistol grip on a shotty blaster definitely increases the felt recoil on your hand and wrist. I prefer to let my shoulder take the beating.

The M1014 stock is kind of moot in California since you can't have the adjustability, it's just pinned in place.
