Bought a shotgun today - total impulse

Don't even have a good reason. My youngest kept talking about over/under and side by side so I was searching around on the 'net.

Cabelas had a flash deal $300 for an over/under and I bought it.

    Stoeger Condor

He has become quite the crack shot on clay pigeons. He has a 410 but has outgrown it. So I guess it's a good enough reason to but a shotgun.

I have a friend that bought one, he had bad luck with it.
Second time out with it, the forend cracked. He sent it back for repair, they said they couldn't fix it, sent him a new one. Another DROS and waiting period.
Third or fourth time out with it a cocking rod bent. Sent it back for repair, again they said they couldn't fix it and sent him another new one...Third DROS and waiting period.

When the third gun arrived he never shot it, he sold it. He bought an A300 and last time I saw him, he was still using it.

I have a shooting range in the backyard and we play a game where me and the kids (usually two boys but sometimes my daughter, too) are all lined up ready to shoot.

Clay goes out and the youngest gets first shot. If he missed then the next kid goes. So on. I go last.

I get some practice at 45-60 yard shots.

It's a very fun game and get challenging pretty quick.

Lately the youngest has turned into a dead eye crack shot and after 10 hits in a row we make him sit out for 10 rounds.

            Gotta figure a new format.

Jealous. I want to shoot clays in my backyard. Sounds like a great time with the family

If I had a buck for every gun I bought "on impulse"......
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!
