Benelli M1 and M4 stock compatibility?

Benelli M1 and M4 stock compatibility?

I searched quite a bit but couldn't find a definitive answer using Google, so here goes.

Are M1S90 stocks compatible with the M4S90? Searching the internet seems to conclude that M1 stocks are compatible with the M3, but no mention of the M4. I only ask because the stocks for the M1 and M4 look almost identical and this seems like a logical place to have some compatibility...that and I can't for the life of me find a place with M4 field stocks in stock.

They are not. My understanding is that they have completely different recoil assemblies/mounting hardware.
