Just make sure that it makes it to minimum lenghts. 18 in+ barrel (Most barrels are 18 1/2 just in case) and it's a total of 26 in or more to avoid the federal restrictions. other than that, you can do whatever you want to it including adding a removable magazine, folding stocks, grips, etc.

What about a Judge? It has a revolving cylinder and takes 410's. I have to ask the shop but its dros as a pistol right?

I bought a Mossberg 500 a couple weeks back at big 5 sporting goods. I have put a telescoping knoxx recoil reduction stock on it with a pistol grip. I also pulled the plunger out of the stock tube so it now holds 5 rds (this gun is for home defense and the range).

I have been hearing that by having both a pistol grip and a telescoping stock that my gun is illegal. However, when I bought this gun (a few weeks ago and new) it already had a pistol grip and telescoping stock on it.

Did big 5 sell me an illegal gun?

Whatever you do, just don't bring it into an area for hunting like that! (Other than driving straight through)

Where did you hear this from? Was this from a range? But the shotgun is perfectly legal. It only holds 5? My mossberg holds 8+1 but then again i have the 590.

He may have an 18.5" barrel. My M590A1 is the 18.5" version and holds 5+1. I'll be making it a 6+1 once I add the VC tube extension. My FIL's 20" M590 is an 8+1.
