Does a permanently attached muzzle brake\breaacher count as a 922 compliant part?

Hey guys, i just had my saiga converted and was wondering if a muzzle brake\breacher count as a 922 compliant part when attached permanently to the barrel! How many parts would be needed if the Saiga12 was in pistol grip configuration? The tapco trigger counts as 3 parts! i have no stock on it, so that obviously doesnt! and i have a DPH Arms slotted muzzle brake\ breacher. I have a USA made magazine but i dont want to count that part becus at the range i will use the original mag! Any help woud be appreciated!

What matters is NOT the US part count, it's how many foreign parts there are (10 or less = legal).

If you assume that you will be using a foreign magazine AND a foreign buttstock/handguard, you will have 14 foreign parts total in the beginning (threaded choke).

1) If the muzzlebrake is attached permanently, i would expect it to mean that the muzzle is no longer counted as a seperate part (cannot be unthreaded) so your foreign parts count would be 13. Someone else should chime in here with their opinion.

2) Pistol Grip = not counted in default parts count. If it's a foreign part, your parts count goes up by 1. If its a US part count, you are still at 13 foreign parts.

3) Tapco trigger = Replaces THREE foreign parts with Three US parts. Parts count is now 10 (or 11 if you don't believe Item #1).

4) You are then OK or you can replace one more part. Apparently, the general consensus is that the gas plug counts as a the gas piston so if you buy the gunfixer 4-position plug, you will have it covered.

Actually, it's more like this:
1)Muzzle brake/comp = 1 part
2)Buttstock = 1 part (you are replacing that with a pistol grip)
3)Tapco Trigger group = 3 parts
4)Gas Piston = 1 part - The Saiga has a "puck" that it uses in front of the piston. This "puck" is the part that needs to be replaced to count as a part. The gunfixer 4-position plug does NOT count as a part, just the puck that you can get from about 3 different companies now.

You should be more than cleared with the Tapco trigger group, muzzle brake, pistol grip. For extra assurance, replace the puck and get a new forearm - but as it is, you're fine. Also, as far as I know, if you just want a pistol grip and no stock, you're okay as long as you meet the OAL requirement of 26" which should be no problem with the 19" barrel version (I should measure mine, hadn't really thought about it...)
