    New 870 express?

I just ordered an 870 express (new one) and just happened to be looking around online and there are alot of bad reviews!

The reason I ordered it is because I had one 12 years ago and it was my favorite shotgun, now I am knida worried I bought a piece of crap.

Soo has the 870 gone that far downhill? Anyone purchase one recently and had problems? Thanks in advance.

Nope. It's still a fantastic gun for the money. You can't really go wrong with it or the mossberg. It's a coin toss or a ergonomics call for either shotgun.

I bought a Big 5 870 last year and am completely satisfied with it.

870 is a solid shotgun. One of the major LE agency just had a contract with Remington for 4,500 model 870 shotguns. Maybe it is not that bad after all.

The 870 Police and the 870 Express have some differences that do make the Police model superior however.

I recently got an 870 HD for Big 5 myself and so far it's proven to be well built. I haven't put thousands upon thousands of rounds through it like my 20 year old Mossberg, but I expect it to hold up to that same type of use.

I also bought a new 870 express (synthetic stock) earlier this year and love it. Seems completely solid to me. I read somewhere that they still use the same machines to make these guns that have been used for many years now.

870P is VERY different and much superior.

my 870 is a month or two old and I've already shot more than 100 shells, still as solid as when i first got it.
