    Bonanza Blast

    Happy Easter everyone!
It was a beautiful day to shoot some clays!!!
It was also good to see the regular crew, I had a good time
While I didn't shoot my best score, I'm encouraged by how it went.
I'm just over two weeks out from eye surgery and was shooting a new gun but shot better than I had in several months. Looking at the scores, I did better than I thought I did.
This was my first good day at the range in a long time

Really bummed I missed this one - I’ve missed the last couple of Bonanzas as my father had been in/out of the hospital back home (and the Bonanzas are my favorite).. Didn’t know you had eye surgery - did it impact your shooting at all? Looking forward to seeing the new gun.

That was fun. Those rabbits were maddening!

I could tell your new gun was working well for you.

Sorry to hear about your dads situation, I hope all goes well and he is back to good health soon.
I didn't see as well as I had hoped for at this point, but the vision is getting better day by day. Given the vision AND shooting a new gun, I feel I did pretty well. There were a couple targets I did not see very well, an on edge teal at about 35 ~ 40 yards for one. But, over all, it was pretty good. I missed a bunch of fluff ball targets, but then hit a bunch of the harder ones...go figure Raising and falling targets that gave me fits with the old gun were smoked with the new gun.
Bottom line, I think it did impact my shooting. As the eyes get better and I get used to the new gun, I think I may be able to compete in NSCA shoots again.

Hope to see you next month

The last station of the day, I just got sloppy. My score on that station was all on me, not anything else.

I think so too! The raising and falling targets proved it to me

Didn't make it today but don't see a lot of high scores! Was the course hard today?

I'm told it was. My downfall was the easier targets and the few I couldn't see.
It almost felt like I was back to normal, hit the hard ones, miss the easy ones...I have hope again

                  Yeah, exactly.
Those last stations with only 2 pairs killed me.

Hard course sounds like the answer!!!!! I will always go with that.

15 through 18 only threw 2 pairs each in the tournament.

I guess the new station is 17 under the 5 stand! It looks fun but have not shot it yet

15 is the old 13. It was a report pair that you saw twice. I thought the first target was fairly straightforward, but the second target was away and arcing off to the left and I missed both times.

The three new stations were between the old 3 and 4, between the old 11 and 12, and between the old 14 and 15 (underneath the right/south end of the five stand platform.)

                              15, 16 and 17 messed me up...the rabbit station (3) didn't help me either
