Link to those action proving dummies? I have some, but they're only action proving dummies, not snap caps - they don't have a primer pocket at all.
I'd be careful about orange paint (or any paint), as it's going to flake off and rub off as you cycle the dummies and get into the action. As long as you keep an eye on it and clean it out when done, it shouldn't be a problem.
The Tiptons linked above get bad reviews for how long they last. The plastic base gets chewed up and eventually comes off. $25 for a set of 10 isn't super expensive, but if they wear out quickly, it's no bargain. The metal base snap caps get better reviews, but cost a good bit more.
