    Browning Citori O/U

I inherited a Browning Citori O/U. How can I find out what model I have?Where can I get more info on the shotgun? Where did they put the serial #? Any and all info would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    br

    Post a pic for model.

Serial # is under the lever on the reciever(push to one side as if to oper the action)...Take the fore end off ...#'s inside on bottom....and on the bottom of the barrels when you take them off.

What are the two letters in the serial # ?

What are the first three #'s ?

the whole # is 01241PP753. I'm not sure if you count the 0. I'll work on the picture. Any particular part or just the whole thing?

        Browning serial codes

Here is a link to the info. you are looking for: http://www.browning.com/customerserv...tail.asp?id=32

First five numbers are the serial number. The PP stands for the last two digits of the year of manufacture, which in this case is 1988. The remainder tells you the type of gun. Looks like 753=12 ga. 3" Gr.1 Lightning. Grade 1 is a field gun. Your gun is chambered for 3" shells.

Its a very nice hunting gun. Enjoy it.

Mmmmmm....Lightning, my favorite Browning flavor. Especially the ones in the Belgium chocolate box.

I've had a Citori superlight for many years and it's one of my favourite guns. Enjoy, you got a nice one.

I've got one that I have never been able to ID.
Looks like a Lightning receiver, blue, straight English upland style grip stock, 12ga 26", Full over Mod fixed chokes, and 2.75 chambers. ******PX103, PX says it's made in 1983, and 103=12 ga. 3 1/2" Gr.1 Hunting???
No one that has seen and held it, could figure out what it was either. It resembles my 12ga Upland Inv+, but the receiver is visibly thinner, and 2" longer barrels. Someone told me it may be a Upland Featherlite, but I've never found any reference to a Browning with that name. To the best of my knowledge, it came from the factory like this too.

                  Trap55

Does the barrell say 2 3/4", or 3 1/2"? Is the bluing more of a matte than high gloss?

A Superlight models was introduced in 1983....2 3/4 is only
26in barrels, choked IM/M and F/M. Those seems to fit the bill...but.

                    The 103 is the kicker.

High gloss and 2 3/4" chambers.
I'm starting to think someone at Miroku had a little too much saki the night before he stamped this one.
