Mossberg 590A1 Question

Are there any issues, i.e., difficult to do or feeding problems, with putting a mag extension on the 590A1 (item #:51517 and/or 51518)? Also, who has them right now?

There are no mag extensions for Mossbergs. The barrel nut is the end of the mag tube and holds the barrel assembly in place.

You get 5+1. If you can't fix your problem with that... you should probably practice more.

EDIT: I take it back; you could probably custom make an extension...

I don't have one, but thought about it. Here's a picture from their website. I suppose they could have done a better picture to let us know how it looks.

Yeah I checked the site after you posted that, but I still can't see how it works; the extension on the barrel blocks the end of the BLOCKED end of the mag tube - it uses the captured end nut to lock down the whole assembly; how does the mag tube capacity increase without replacing the whole mag tube.. and then using a modified barrel?

I don't know how it works, but I DO know that the Vang Comp extension works just fine on my 590A1.

On a Mossberg 590A1, the end of the mag tube is not blocked, unlike most 500 series Mossbergs. The 590A1 mag tubes are similar to Remington 870 mag tubes (but with different threading for the end caps and extensions).

There is no captured end nut or bolt on the 590A1s.
