$34 Per Round of Trap Shooting

I shoot a lot of trap at Escondido Fish & Game. I went to pick up ammo today at Ammo Bros on Miramar Road. Their cheapest box of 12 gauge is $29.99. That means I have to pay $34 per round for trap ($30 per box of ammo and $4 for the house). That is more than $1 per shell.

I can't afford to shoot anymore. Looks like I need a new hobby.

That's pretty screwed up!! I reload but have been looking for friends and it's pretty jacked up right now, you can find some cheaper ammo on ammoseek but have to ship to an ffl.

I think you need to find a different place to buy the shells. Local ranges up here are about $8 ~$8.50 a box.

Go for air guns, I'm starting to make the transition myself for the exact same reason.

Winchester Super Target #7.5, $79.99/case, at Rogers Sporting Goods.

Buy 2 or more cases of these to get free shipping (free shipping over $99).

Have them shipped to an FFL that will do ammo transfers.
You'll probably have to have your FFL email them a copy of their FFL.

Rogers Sporting Goods, founded in 1980, is a family-owned store that offers the best in waterfowl, hunting, shooting and outdoor gear. Browse the vast selection of everything you need to enjoy the great outdoors.

P.S. I hope you didn't buy the $29.99 box of shells.

                Plus 64 cents per clay= $16 per round +$10 ammo= $26. I'll find something else to do.

Thank you BOBGBA!! We need to keep our fellow shooters aware of some of the good prices out there, Because it's getting pretty stupid out there.

Heck no I didn't pay that for a box of ammo. What am I? Rockafeller?

I'm used to paying $54 for 10 boxes or $5.40 per box.

I reload all my shotgun shells, But find myself in the same boat as the people buying ammo! Reloading stuff ( powder, primers, and other components ) are nowhere to be found.

It's always good to have a few cases of factory shells sitting around, just in case... Just my two cents

A few shells? I go through 200 per week. I bought 2500 a few months ago and I'm down to my last case.

That comment was meant for those that reload (like whutsup40).

In your case, maybe it should read:
It's always good to have a few pallets of factory shells sitting around.
