The best gun I’ve ever owned... It can’t be?

I am honestly shaken by how my gun is feeling, shooting, and looking. I mentioned on here how I swapped my CXS stock and forearm with my SSCE and I turned it into the best feel in the hands and balance of any browning I’ve ever held and I’ve held plenty. And of course that is personal because I have big hands and enjoy a bulkier feel. But what I noticed on fancier guns with 32” barrels is they had a much better balance than brownings without being that much heavier. I had two Perazzis, a 725, 3 CGs, SSCE, the list goes on and I always nitpicked at them. Oh it’s too barrel heavy, it’s too overall heavy, my head doesn’t sit on it right, the barrels aren’t shooting in the same place, yada yada lol those are some bad memories. What I finally did different with this browning is went 30” with plasmas and that takes 3oz right off the end of the muzzle. I finally shot it for the first time at trap last weekend and my singles was a 24, 26 yard handicap 43/50, and doubles 38/50. Now I know you’re saying those aren’t great numbers but the 24 in singles right away was amazing! And then long yardage handicap is never that fun stepping right into and for me my doubles take a lot of timing. I am no natural. But the real tsaheylu is coming. An almost ceremonial thing. The flight of passage my first time taking it out sporting clays is coming this weekend. I am so beyond excited!!! I can’t believe I may have found the one.

I enjoyed my Brownings (525, XT) and still have them. I then lusted after a Perazzi and bought a used MX-15. Way...WAY to light for me...like trying to aim a drinking straw.

Then a Ljutic came into my life. Heavy, fat, bulky in all the right places (big hands here too). Swung like a spoon through cake batter, predictable and stately swing and had a phenomenal trigger. Got to the 27 yard line with that one. But...I couldn't shoot doubles with it (single shot, no over/under).

Lusted after Kolar Max Trap TA Combo - a do all trap gun. Found one for sale used with a top single barrel, my favorite configuration (but harder to find). No more new shotguns for me, this is the one.

That's a beautiful gun! I use Brownings for trap, skeet and sporting clays. Not to mention bird hunting!

That is some nice wood -

I'm with you; sometimes a particular just ends up being just right, regardless of the name on the receiver, the price tag, etc.

Should have kept that KS5 though ;0

Who changed the stock for you? Is it custom for a bolt on kit?

I did as my SSCE was only from 2016 so it was a straight swap. The stock bolts were the same too but took different tools.
