    410. ar 15 upper

So have any of you CG members have any experience with the Chippewa or Charles Daly 410 gauge upper of your AR15 Mil-Spec lower?

Are you in CA and if so, is your lower a RAW?

If not I don’t think there’s a path to assembling a detachable magazine fed semi auto shotgun. (Would love to be corrected if I’m wrong).

When I looked into it for outside of CA use, I concluded that I would rather get a dedicated 12ga semi auto box mag gun, than have to deal with cost of commercial 410 bore shells and the more limited commercial loads available

I am in CA. all of my lowers are in a fixed mag configuration. I have the AR Maglock on all 3 lowers. All have vertical vertical grips, they all have A2 flash hiders, (1) has complete A2 furniture, (1) has magpul grip and adjustable stock with a spikes hand guard and (1) is a completed lower with A2 furniture and no upper yet.

None of them are RAW due to fixed mag configuration with AR Maglocks. I was looking for more of a 10 round .410 rifled slug for home protection SHTF type weapon that is fun to shoot.

I've got several 12 gauge pumps. Maybe I do need to look at 12 gauge AR style.

I know the reviews are mixed on the Ar 410 upper. I was looking to see if there are any success stories here on CG

Some mag fed shotguns may be less problematic for you to acquire.

If you are shooting sporting clays with it, you could just break it open and top load 2 at a time like an over under! Imagine the look on YSR's face when you roll up to station 10 at Raahauges and go 8 for 8 with a 26" .410 AR-15. He might even give you a tip.. and I'm not talking about money..
