    ossberg Maverick 88

Are these legal to purchase in CA? I know that there are some shotguns that are not allowed in or have restrictions. My dad purchased one today I am in VA and there is no waiting period which was an odd site to see.

Isn't this just the cheaper version of the 500 yet still US made? I don't see there being any problems as long as the barrel is at least 18" and the overall length is 26". But you will still have to wait the mandatory time period after purchase here in CA.

It is a 20 inch length barrel. So it has to be 26 inches total length barrel to butt stock? I actually thought it felt nicer then the mossburg 500. yes it is US made and is 7+1

If you have a pump shotgun anything goes except barrel and overall legnth.

good to know I just wanted to make sure I could purchase one in CA otherwise I would be looking at a different shotgun as I did not like the mossberg 500.

Yeah, pretty much a 500 but built w/cheaper componenets for a lower price point, from what I've heard.

The biggest issue I've seen is that the forend and action-slide-asembly-thingy is all one piece, so you can't swap forends w/o replacing the entire unit.

Search for Mossberg forend swaps and you'll get a better idea, as I don't own one.
              This is my sig line.

ban death cars! they are designed to cause accidents that kill as many people as possible.
