A source told me that remington told its LEO customers that they will be back up and running by March. I think that is an indicator as to when parts, and civilian guns will be come available as well. Maybe try waiting it out.

      Try:
Check out the deal on Ejector, 12 Ga., (2-3/4" & 3" Mag), New Factory Original at Numrich Gun Parts

      ejector
Check out the deal on Ejector Rivet, Rear, New Factory Original at Numrich Gun Parts

      rear rivet

The front rivet was listed as out-of-stock at GunPartsCorp.

Reno Gunsmithing on its website said they're a bit backed-up, but they used to do Remington service and might have the parts laying around. If they don't have the parts, it'd be just as hard for them to find the parts, although they may have more sources than I know. When they weren't busy, it still took ~month for a repair.

That's crazy. For one of the most popular firearms ever manufactured, you would think parts would be available all over the place. But I guess that's not the case.

all things considered, this seems like a perfect storm. broke gun, can't fix. ducks need killing. it's Black Friday, Christmas season. your gun is in stock at San Jose Cabela's.

get down to your local store and get your DROS started today.

              by far the quickest solution.

He goes by aippi on this forum, but I haven't seen him post anything in a while.

2.) Do you have a hunting buddy that you can borrow an extra gun from?

3.) Even if you get yours fixed in the next week, buy another shotgun. Everyone needs a backup gun.

I’ve got a benelli over under I refuse to drag to the mud, a mint condition never fired 1959 browning double automatic in original box with all original paperwork a wingermaster 870 dedicated full choke and this busted *** express. The express is the only one I’ll shoot steel from. The browning is still new in the box I’ll never fire it. I’ll give that guy a buzz I already said **** it and in the market for an sx4. This will be my loaner shotgun from here on out.

Can't you put your express barrel on the Wingmaster and use it in a pinch? Or is it only 2 3/4" and you want to shoot 3" shells?

FYI the outside flat side of the rivets will need to be sanded down to be flush with the receiver and refinished to match it. I did this repair on my 870 supermag last year. The brownells tool is hit and miss. Out of spec punches. Found out after over a year when I finally got to repairing it. Most gunsmith should have those parts lying around shouldn't cost more than 50 bucks to get it done. If something is going to break it will be this on the 870.
