    Mossy 930 won't load, won't eject, won't cycle...

I've read tons of pages about Mossy 930s that won't load, won't eject, won't cycle, but mine does none of that. Once I put the piston rings in correctly, it fires 10 rounds of bird shot effortlessly.

Even the guy I bought it from said I'd need to run some heavy loads thru it to break it in.

My questions are, what choke do you use with slugs? With double-odd buck shot?

i have a Mossy 930 JM and I think it came with only Full, Modified and IC. There is no cylinder choke. This is one of my HD firearms. My bandoliers are loaded with only 00 Buck and Slugs.

So don't have an answer but a question. How about no choke? Is that cylinder?

The wider the choke, the more accurate the slug. So CYL if you have it. If not, IC.

My old 930 had to be cleaned every session or it would stop running.

If it's mossy, you should probably clean it and lube it; seems like it was probably left outside.

Cylinder for slugs, IC or even LM for buck. IC for slugs if you don't have cylinder.

Oh it's there. You just haven't found it yet.

Remove any/all of the F-M-IC chokes from the muzzle. And there it is, cleverly hidden behind the threads that hold the constrictive chokes in place.

Mentioned this before; just clean the spacer, lightly lube it and keep the gas ports clean every once in a while. Simple stuff. Never have had ANY issues with mine. 930 Field "Duck Commander Signature" if that means anything.

And that's exactly what I thought. But some youtube shotgun expert says never fire your shotgun without a choke because it will **** up the threads so what the hell do I know?

You would be wise to always have a choke installed.

Dont you have fancier 12ga semis?

930 works until it doesnt. Pendleton tried to replace all their old berettas with 930s but in the first month all the 930s were broken so the berettas came out of retirement. Mossberg fixed them and within a month same thing so they replaced all the guns and lo and behold broken again. That was it for the 930s

.........and there we go. pacrat says differently. Who needs chokes anyway? Maybe I'll just hacksaw an inch off the barrel. Problem solved.

I mean I wouldn't chance it..you can find chokes online for $30 for this shotgun..not worth the risk of ****ing up the threads and having to replace the entire barrel haha.

They wouldn't make a cylinder choke if it didn't have a purpose, and I doubt for $30 it's a money making scheme.
