barrel clamp creep

Anyone have any suggestions for keeping a barrel clamp from creeping forward under recoil, or do we just live with having to reseat it after every session?

(I'm using mesa tactical clamp on a mossberg 930 and it moves even when I unmount my weapon light)

I don't have this clamp or gun, but I'd use either gaffers' tape; something like this, sold by Amazon:

to wrap the barrel and mag tube under the clamped areas.

Is it the clamp supporting the magazine tube? Nordic tubes come notched from the factory to locate the clamp; can you ***** yours with a lathe?

i've heard some use a light dusting of the grip powder that golfers and gymnasts use, i think they call it rosin.

it clamps onto both the barrel and mag tube, then has a QD sling attachment on one side and a short pic rail to mount a light on the other.

if i removed any metal from the tube, i'd be afraid that would create a pinch point by changing the radius. will experiment with rosin or tape, i guess.

On taper fits, we use a bit of chalk on arbors.

it moves without the light. haven't tried without the sling but it's not that heavy. i went ahead and ordered some rosin. after doing a bit of research on it, people use it to get extra grip in vices, so it sounds promising.
