gunbroker - while tactical gun prices are soaring, practical gun prices seem to be dropping..

shopping this morning looking over some old watchlists and there's definitely a dropping price trend on some of the $1k - $3k range of wood n blue guns I typically shop for..

      good luck!
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

Best way is to find shooters at the racks and ask if you can give their O/U a test mount.
Normally this would be easy, but I don't know how it'd work nowadays with covid and social distancing requirements. Maybe wear gloves along with mask and bring a tub of disinfectant wipes?

Coyote usually has a lot of variety...to rent and shoot.

I actually tried about 20-25 shotguns at Guns, Fishing and other stuff a few years ago when selection on hand was rather large. Ended up finding exactly right fit and bought it there...

These days may be a bit different I suspect...
Wilson Protector .45, Springer 9mm Loaded, Franchi Instinct SL .12ga. and some other cool stuff for the kiddos...

              Birds Landing...

Sportsman Warehouse won’t let you touch a firearm until after you pay for it which sucks when buying a shotgun.

Birds landing has somewhat limited stock on hand. I bought a 725 from their rack and plan to have them bring in a CG apex for me once Trump secures office for another 4. They have a coveted (+/-) 694 on hand but the stock is typical Beretta pallet wood so it collects dust. Their website lists what they have available but they don't update it often enough.

Coyote has a pretty good selection of O/U to fondle and rent/shoot. Guns, Fish and Other Stuff usually has a pretty good selection of Browning and Beretta O/Us.

Before the china virus hits, you could go to a gun club shooting traps and many people would be willing to have you mount their gun.

Scheels in Sparks, NV will let you handle them. Not a big selection tho. Look into Cabelas (Bass pro) in Rocklin (hiway 80). These stores do have used for sale too.
$4K won't get you near a Geurini. The others-maybe but doubtful. Really good O/Us are not cheap. Look into some of the other less $$ brands. IF IT FITS and goes boom you are good to go. Clays do not know what gun you are using.

Don't dismiss semi-autos. You can get a nice one in your price range.

^^There are plenty of really good Brownings and Berettas in the $2K range and if you want more features still plenty between $2K and $4K.
