I'm confused. New 1301 comp pro.

Sorry, I'm a confused noob. Just bought a new 1301 comp pro thinking it was a 10+1 like in youtube vids. But only 2 snap caps fit in the tube. Downloaded the manual and it says:

"MAGAZINE CAPACITY: Limited to 2 cartridges with standard reducer plug mounted (up to 5 cartridges without reducer plug). Optional magazine extensions (magazine capacity up to 9 cartridges) are available in accordance to import country legislation."

What should I do besides sell it to you for cheap? Thank you.

I just have to ask: did you remove the reducer plug? Because you quoted it right there...

Read the manual on how to disassemble the magazine tube and remove the reducer plug.

As for the lack of a magazine extension tube, you'll have to spend money for that accessory. The quote you provided said "optional".

You are going to love that shotgun! I own a Gen 2 Beretta 1301 Tactical Marine (shorter receiver than yours) and it is amazingly fast and easy to drive.

The spring shot out of my hands and bounced off the ceiling at least 3x when I was trying to put it back together again. Hoping there are some practical shotgun classes/events in the Bay Area where I can learn a lot more and meet some of you.

LOL, you are learning. We have all been there at some point. You will get better at it and with that comes experience. I have a Barretta 1201 I got years ago. God help anyone who wrongs me

Comp = Competition, more specifically 3 gun competition so 10 + 1 is the right number to have for Tactical Division.

OP - why do you want that gun to be a 10+1? That seems like an awful amount of weight out there on that barrel of an already WELL-balanced gun. I haven’t shot one of those with 5 in the tube (I have with 2) but I bet the weight of 5 feels very nice. But then add 5 more shells into the tube (assuming you bought the extension) and you’re then dealing with a really heavy gun.

My recommendation, fwiw, is learn to shoot and enjoy the gun as it was designed and get very proficient with it. Things are designed the way they are for good reasons. Then, maybe down the road, extend the tube some. But don’t just run right out and buy everything to make your gun just like the one you saw on youtub. A 5+1 1301 Comp Pro is a glorious gun.

The Comp Pro is a 3-gun beast shotgun that most all competitors use 10 round mags (for those that want to compete and not just show up). Due to USA import restrictions Beretta cannot ship it with the magazine extension installed which is why it needs to be purchased aftermarket.
