    Saiga 12

Are they legal here? What are the capacity restrictions? About how much?
    Are they hard to find?

    Sorry for all the questions.

CA requires semi-automatic mag fed shotguns to have a fixed magazine. The shotgun is not limited to a 10-round max magazine, but acquiring an 11+ round mag is prohibited for most people. LEOs could use 11+ round mags in a semi-auto shotgun in a fixed-mag configuration.

Non-semiautomatic shotguns can have detachable magazines.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Thanks for clarifying for me ke6guj. Sorry for any confusion. PS your avy is awesome! Idiocracy FTW!

Main thing to remember OP, is that these Saiga shotguns are not like the rifles, which can be used without a BB prior to "conversion"

Do a search for a mag lock for a Saiga 12. There are a few folks making them now.

                Yep totally legal.

capacity is unrestricted, however you have to be able to legally aquire the magazines... so LEO can run the 20 round drums, or if you can get an armored car company (or FFL) to sell you one you can attach it without creating an assault weapon.

The S12 in OEM configuration runs $799 + tax from PRKarms, $800+shipping for Aloha Rover, and ???? for Cold war Shooters.

They used to be quite difficult to find, but FEDUPWBS changed that about a year ago.

I got one in the first batch with the group buy.
