Discover Bushnell's range of red dot scopes and reflex sights for hunters. Find your ideal sight and shop now!

Bushnell says its OK to use with a shotgun.
Can/will it break, maybe. So can any sight/optic.

Me? I'm just hoping my 2nd attempt at using epoxy (different epoxy this time) will work in keeping an XS front sight on one of my shotguns barrel.

Those guys on Taofledermaus on YT have one on a shotgun. They sure shoot a lot of wildcat slugs and never seem to have had any issues with their TRS-25 red dot.

I have 6 of these sights on Carbines up to my Ruger Scout rifle in .308. none have Cacked in 10+ years of use.

I think they would be fine on a shotgun, But I would recommend Rifle Sights with a Green Fiber Optic on the front and a light on the gun .

In the day time the Green FO shines so bright you cant't miss it, and at night with the light on it is more of the same.

I say this because this is what I have found works best for me with a shotgun. All my carbines have Red Dots on them. 3 Tactical Shotguns have Open Rifle Sights with the Green FO Front Sights.

Since you should be shooting a shotgun with both eyes open,,, all shots at close range should be nothing more than "front sight on target and let fly."

It is far easier to see a Green FO shining like a Diamond (maybe Emerald?) in a goats *** than picking up a Red dot in a tube and then putting that dot on the target without Studying its position on the target. You are launching 9 rounds with every trigger pull, so gnats *** accuracy isn't needed. Most shotguns are going to put 00 buck into 15" at 15 yards. Pretty big spread. The tendency with red dots is to study the dots position on the target. It needs to be dot bang, dot bang. Not Dot somewhere on the target, and we have to correct placement, and then think about it, and then pull the trigger. It has to be instantaneous or you have defeated the purpose of the red dot in the first place. Dot Bang.

The High Viz Front Sight promotes this as there is nothing to line up, you simply cover the target with the green dot and pull the trigger.
